Terms of Service
Effective date: November 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Talipapa, Ilocos Norte, Philippines ("Talipapa", "we", "us") about your use of the Talipapa website, installed web app and Android app.
1. Accepting these Terms
By creating an account or using Talipapa, you agree to these Terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information and is part of these Terms, but it is a notice and does not replace your choices: optional permissions such as camera, location and notifications are asked for separately. If you do not agree, please do not use Talipapa.
You agree to these Terms electronically, for example by creating an account, and that agreement is valid under the Electronic Commerce Act (Republic Act No. 8792).
2. What Talipapa is
Talipapa is a platform that connects buyers with local fish, vegetable and produce sellers. We are not a party to any sale between users. When you send a buy request, the seller receives the personal information in it, and a buyer's location after acceptance. Sellers must use that information only to deal with your request and must protect it. We act as the platform operator and, for that information, the seller is responsible for their own use of it.
- Prices, product quality, delivery or pickup, and payment between buyers and sellers are their own responsibility.
- A buy request is not a binding order. It becomes a sale only once the buyer and seller arrange it between themselves.
- We do not inspect, store, own or deliver any product listed on Talipapa.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and sign-in methods safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. Do not share or sell accounts.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for your use of Talipapa.
4. Rules for sellers
If you list products on Talipapa, you agree that:
- Your products and your business are lawful, and you have any permits the law requires.
- Your listings are accurate, with honest descriptions, photos, prices and stock.
- Food products are fresh, safe to eat, and handled according to food safety rules.
- You will not list prohibited items, including anything illegal, endangered or protected species, counterfeit goods, or hazardous materials.
5. Your content
You own the photos, listings, comments and reviews you post. By posting them, you give Talipapa a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, resize and share that content within the service so it can work as intended. This license ends when you delete the content, or when your account is anonymized 30 days after you close it (at which point your content is removed), except where it has already been shared with others (for example, copies others made or that are in backups until they are replaced) or we must keep it by law.
Your content may include personal information, including other people's. Only post what you have the right to post, and do not post sensitive personal information about anyone, such as government ID numbers or health details. You can ask us to remove content that you believe breaks these Terms or the law by emailing [email protected].
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to post what you share.
6. Community rules
- No spam, scams or misleading posts.
- No harassment, hate speech or threats.
- No fake reviews. Reviews may only be left by verified buyers.
- Do not try to break, overload or misuse the service, or collect other users' information.
7. Free launch period
Talipapa is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans and paid boosts later. If we do, we will give notice before any charges apply, and you can choose whether to pay. Any paid passes already purchased will be honored for their full period.
8. Suspension and termination
We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these Terms or the law, or that puts other users at risk. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. You can stop using Talipapa and close your account at any time from Settings, by entering your password or, if you signed in with Google, by typing your account email.
Closing an account deactivates it right away: your profile, store and posts are hidden, you are signed out on all devices, and push notifications stop. If you sign in again within 30 days, your account is restored. After 30 days, your personal data is anonymized and your content (such as your store, posts and photos, comments, reactions, reviews, buy requests and notifications) is removed, as described in the Privacy Policy. Payment records are kept after anonymization for the period required by Philippine tax and accounting laws. You can download a copy of your data from Settings before closing your account.
Provisions that by their nature should continue, such as liability and governing law, continue after termination.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Talipapa is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the service will always be available or error-free, or that listings and users are accurate or reliable.
To the extent allowed by Philippine law, Talipapa is not liable for losses arising from transactions between users, from products bought or sold, or for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, bad faith or gross negligence, your rights under the Data Privacy Act (including the right to damages), your rights under the Consumer Act of the Philippines, or other rights that cannot be waived.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Disputes will be brought before the proper courts of Laoag City, Philippines.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make important changes, we will let you know in the app or by email at least one (1) week before they take effect. Continuing to use Talipapa after that means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not accept them, you can close your account. If a change to the Privacy Policy needs your consent, we will ask for it separately.
